Our networks have problems.  There are vulnerabilities all around us. New ones appear daily and at times it seems faster than we can fix the existing problems. It can overwhelm us. Join us for walk through of the Prepare, Identify, Assess, Communicate and Treat (PIACT) vulnerability management process and how this applies to Enterprise Networks.  This talk will highlight material from a new SANS class (MGT516), that tackles vulnerability management for the enterprise and cloud services.

Speaker Bio

Jonathan Risto

Jonathan is a Mentor and Community SANS Instructor teaching primarily in the areas of intrusion detection, incident handling, forensics, and penetration testing. When not teaching for SANS, he works for Defence R&D Canada, in the Cyber Operations and Signals Warfare section. He is an STI student working on completing his Master of Information Security Management. He currently holds numerous certifications that include GIAC's GSLC, GPEN, GCIH, GSEC, GCFA, and GAWN certifications, is a current CISSP, and is also a Professional Engineer. In his spare time, his 3 young daughters keep him very busy but he enjoys flying, astronomy, and photography.
